SAINT PAUL, Minn. – Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has activated defenseman Jared Spurgeon off of Injured Reserve and placed forward Matt Kassian on Waivers.
Spurgeon, 23 (11/29/89), has missed the last nine games with a lower body injury suffered in a game against the Nashville Predators on Jan. 22. The 5-foot-9, 185-pound native of Edmonton, Alberta, has tallied one assist in three games with Minnesota this season and owns 36 points (7-29=36) in 126 contests with the Wild.
Kassian, 26 (10/28/86), has not appeared in a game this season. The 6-foot-4, 232-pound native of Edmonton, Alberta, owns two goals and 67 penalty minutes (PIM) in 28 career matches with Minnesota.
