SAINT PAUL, Minn. – Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has acquired a sixth-round pick in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft from the Ottawa Senators in exchange for forward Matt Kassian.
Kassian, 26 (10/28/86), has recorded one goal and 12 penalty minutes (PIM) in nine games with the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League (AHL) this season. The 6-foot-4, 232-pound native of Edmonton, Alberta did not appear in a game with Minnesota this season before being reassigned to Houston on Feb. 14. He notched two goals and 67 PIM in 28 career matches with the Wild. Kassian was originally selected by Minnesota in the second round (57th overall) of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
