Congratulations to the 2013 All Area Girls Basketball Team, named March 16th:

All Area Girls Basketball 2012-13

Greta Walsh, Litchfield, Senior, PG-All Conference, 20.3 pts, 3.5 assists, 3.7 steals, one of the top PG’s in the area, can shoot outside, can drive inside.

Andi Gayner, Dassel Cokato, Junior, F-All Conference, Teams leading scorer and rebounder, ranked as one of the states top 50 players, 17 pts, 8 rebounds, 2 steals.

Abby Miller, HLWW, Junior, G-All Conference, 1,000 career points, averages 16 points per game, shooting 43% from three point range, one of the top shooters in the area, good defensively as well. Holds three school records for three point shooting.

Caroline Jacobs, Waconia, Senior, G-All Conference, 13 points, 43% 3 point shooter, strong defensive player, one of the top shooters in the area.

Clarissa Ober, GSL, Senior, F-All Conference, All State, 16.3 points, 12.1 rebounds, 3.8 blocks, 2.4 steals, 2.2 assists, 54% shooter, over 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds in her career. A 5 year varsity player, that’s playing basketball for South Dakota State next season.

Sydney Larson, ACGC, Senior, F-All Conference, Teams MVP, 19.4 points, 9.3 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, 4th girl in school history with 1,000 points, chosen to MN All Star Series, 3 year starter, holds several school records.

Michelle Melsha, BLHS, Junior, F-11.4 points, 12.2 rebounds, strong player, team leader in points and rebounds, gave other teams fits in the middle.

Halley Busse, GFW, 8th grade, G-19.1 points, 5.3 rebounds, 3.2 steals, 2.7 assists, broke school record for 3-pointers in a season, Team leader in points, rebounds and steals, second on team in assists.

Laruen Manteuffel, Mayer Lutheran, Junior, F-All Conference, Teams top player, 12.3 points, 7.8 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 1.8 steals, 1.7 blocks, 49% shooter, Consistent player, set school record for points in a game (38), good inside presence.

Kate Theisen, Watertown Mayer, Senior, G-All Conference, Team MVP, 20 points, 6.4 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 53% shooter, 4 year varsity player, high basketball IQ, can go inside or outside, 1,000 point scorer, season ended early with ACL injury.

Courtney Scoblic, LP/HT, Junior, F-2 year All Conference, 1,000 point scorer, teams top player, 18.6 points, 11.3 rebounds, 2 steals, a breakout year for her, averaged over 22 points and 14 rebounds during the playoffs.

Courtney Dilley, EVW, Senior, C-16 points, 6 rebounds, 60% shooter, over 1,400 career points, over 700 career rebounds, 4 year starter, 3 year all conference, Central MN Conference Player of the Year, going to Central Lakes College of Brainerd to play basketball.

Lexi Erpenbach, NYA, Senior, G-3 time all conference, Teams Co MVP, 17.2 points, 119 assists this season, 67 steals as well. A good leader, hard worker, and a 1,000 point scorer (6th overall in school history).

Brooke Willemsen, NYA, Senior, C-2 time all conference, 9.6 points, 10.8 rebounds, 75 steals this season, over 900 career points, almost 900 career rebounds, set school record for rebounds in one game (26).

Kaitlyn Kuefler, Annandale, Senior, G-Teams MVP for 2 seasons, All time leading scorer in Annandale history, Class 2A All Star Team, 21.7 points, 6.9 rebounds, 3.6 steals, 2.6 assists, one of the top SG’s in the state, playing basketball for SCSU next season.

Coach of the Year:

Mike Lee, Lester Prairie/Holy Trinity-helped team to 23-6 record, 2nd place finish in MCAA Conference, Sub Section Champions, Section Runners up. Overall, one of the best seasons in a long time for the Bulldogs.
