ACGC Approves Cosmos School Sale 27 Mar 13

The Atwater Cosmos Grove City School Board Monday night voted unanimously to sell the ACGC South Elementary Building to the City of Cosmos for 1 dollar.

KWLM reports ACGC Superintendent Cheri Broderius saying the matter now shifts to the Cosmos City Council for approval. City officials say it will be discussed at their April 11th meeting but no action will likely be taken at that time.

ACGC stopped holding regular elementary classes in Cosmos this year, and Broderius says they’ve been working on filling the vacant spaces at the school for years, and says at the present time it houses the Cosmos Learning Center, run by the Southwest Service Cooperative and space is also rented out.

Broderius says things will not change for the current renters except that they will be writing checks to the City of Cosmos instead of the ACGC School District.
