SAINT PAUL, Minn. – Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has assigned defenseman Mathew Dumba from the Red Deer Rebels of the Western Hockey League (WHL) to the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League (AHL).
Dumba, 18 (7/25/94), posted 42 points (16-26=42), including six power play goals (PPG), and was a plus-10 with 80 penalty minutes (PIM) in 62 regular-season games for Red Deer this season. Dumba added four points (2-2=4), including two PPG, in nine playoff games. The 6-foot, 182-pound native of Calgary, Alberta, started the season with Minnesota and was reassigned to the Rebels on Jan. 27 without appearing in a game with the Wild.
