A teenage driver was killed as an April snowstorm made a slippery mess of Minnesota roads.
The State Patrol says 16-year-old Jonathon Pohlen of Houlton, Wisconsin was killed Thursday afternoon when he lost control on snowy Interstate 94 in eastern Minnesota and collided with a truck’s trailer.
Highway 7, east of Hutchinson, was closed because of a two-vehicle crash for a time Thursday afternoon before crews cleared the scene. 23-year-old Christopher McCullough of Bluffton, Minnesota was seriously injured in the crash. 34-year-old Ann Stine of Hutchinson suffered minor injuries. Two others were not injured.
National Weather Service officials say the storm could dump up to an additional foot of snow on northern Minnesota today (Friday).
Dozens of area schools let out early Thursday and have delayed or canceled classes this morning.
