Former DC pitcher to be inducted into HOF 12 Jun 13

A former DC Saints great will be inducted into the North Star Baseball Hall of Fame this season. Pitcher and First Basemen John Riewer will be inducted into the Hall on Friday before the Saints take on the Howard Lake Orphans. Riewer played 20 seasons for the Saints and had a lifetime batting average of .363, while winning 112 league games on the mound. He won the league’s MVP award 3 times, and was named the top pitcher in the league twice. Other Inductees into the North Star League’s Hall of Fame this season include: Maple Lake’s Kevin Brown, Buffalo’s Keith Nygaard, and Loretto’s Tom Traen. (photo courtesy dcsaints.com)
