Eden Prairie, MN (June 27, 2013) – The Minnesota Vikings have signed LB Desmond Bishop. Bishop spent his first seven seasons with the Green Bay Packers after being selected in the sixth round (192nd overall) of the 2007 NFL Draft.
Bishop started 30 games between the 2010 and 2011 seasons, including Super Bowl XLV. Bishop was second on the team in tackles (9) and recovered a fumble on the first play in the fourth quarter during the Packers’ Super Bowl victory.
The 2011 season saw Bishop notch career highs in tackles (142) and sacks (5). During a 2011 game against the St. Louis Rams, he recorded a single-game career high of 20 tackles.
Bishop sat out the 2012 season with a hamstring injury suffered during the first week of the preseason.
During his career, Bishop has posted 310 tackles, 13 passes defensed, nine sacks and seven forced fumbles.
