Juveniles Arrested for Theft in Meeker County 08 Jul 13

Two 16-year-olds were arrested Friday after Meeker County

authorities say they were involved with stealing a car and other items

in the Star Lake Area.

Authorities say on Friday at 6:16 am the Meeker County Sheriff’s

Office responded to an address on 586th Avenue in Greenleaf Township

on Star Lake. Upon arrival, deputies learned that a 2004 Chevrolet

Impala had been stolen and then returned to the residence overnight.

The hood was still warm, the car had fresh damage and items had been

stolen from it. The other vehicles parked at the residence had also

been entered and some items were taken as well.

Upon Investigation of the incident and following up on leads

Deputies ended up at 21383 586th Avenue also on Star Lake. Deputies

located some of the reported stolen items and a search warrant was

executed at the residence and the stolen items were seized along with

other suspected stolen property.

The two 16 year old male juveniles were arrested and transported

to Prairie Lake Detention Facility in Willmar Pending formal charges

through the Meeker County Attorney’s Office.

The Meeker County Sheriff’s Office says they have received

numerous recent theft and criminal damage to property reports related

to this case.

The public’s help is requested in reporting any damage or theft

to their property, or suspicious activities they witnessed, especially

in the Star Lake area to the Sheriff’s Office.
