Coach Facing Charges 11 Jul 13

A long-time coach with the Sibley East School District is facing

criminal charges after allegedly taking an “upskirt” picture with his

cell phone of the stylist that was cutting his hair Saturday morning.

The woman reported the inappropriate behavior to police, who say

38-year-old Doug Flieth admitted to taking the picture during a

haircut at her home.

He’s been charged with a gross misdemeanor count of interference

with privacy.

Flieth is the head girls basketball coach at Sibley East High

School, and also coaches football, golf, and is an elementary physical

education teacher.

He’s been a coach at the school for 15 years.

Sibley East officials say they have never received a complaint

about Flieth. The district is reportedly conducting its own

investigation.

If convicted, Flieth faces up to a year in jail and a $3,000 fine.

“Sibley East officials say they have never received a complaint about Flieth.”
This is not true. There have been complaints. This statement is Sibley East continuing to sweep it under the rug.
