WHITE SOX NOTES:

  • ·    The White Sox lost their second straight game, being walked-off in the bottom of the ninth inning…it was their 34th loss of the season after leading in a game…Chicago is now 18-27 in one-run games…Chicago is now 15-36 against the AL Central…Chicago recorded eight singles to start the game tonight after singling 14 straight times in yesterday’s game and eight times in Tuesday’s game for 29 straight singles…the 29 straight singles are the most by a MLB team since the Mariners had 31 straight singles May 20-23, 2009…the streak is the longest streak of only singles by the White Sox since before 1974, when Stats Inc. officially began tracking game logs.
  • ·    Andre Rienzo allowed two runs, one earned, on four hits while striking out two in 6.0 innings tonight…it was his third quality start in four starts this season…all three of his quality starts have come on the road…the one earned run is the fewest in his four career starts and the four hits ties his career-low (also August 4 at Detroit)…he allowed a solo home run to Plouffe in the fifth and has allowed three homers in his last two starts…he was issued his fourth no decision in his four career starts after the bullpen allowed the tying run in the eighth inning.
