Seal coating will begin Monday (August 26) on about 30 miles of McLeod County roads and two county parking lots.
County officials say the project should take around 10 days.
Pearson Brothers of Hanover, MN was awarded this year’s seal coat project at a cost of approximately $700,000.
The roads will remain open. Flaggers will be present to help guide traffic; which should expect minor delays.
Seal coating is a preventative maintenance activity that involves applying emulsified asphalt to a blacktop surfaced road and covering with aggregate chips.
Officials say the process extends the life of the roadway and helps hold off costly reconstruction.
