  • ·    The Royals beat the Twins today 3-1 for their fifth straight win…the Royals have taken nine of the last 10 games against Minnesota and eight of the 10 at Target Field this season…the Royals are 10-3 in their last 13 games at Target Field (since September 11, 2012)…the Royals have out-scored the Twins 98-51 this season…with the win, the Royals finish the season series against the Twins with a record of 15-4…the 15 wins by the Royals is the most in one season by an opponent in Twins history.
  • ·    Bruce Chen won his first road game since August 21 at Houston (relief appearance)…it was his first road win in a start since August 7, 2012 at Chicago-AL…Chen finished the season against the Twins with one run allowed in 12.2 innings pitched (0.71 ERA)…Chen is now 3-2, 3.08 (53.1 IP, 18 ER) since returning to the starting rotation in mid-July.

  • ·    Samuel Deduno allowed three runs on four hits with one walk and four strikeouts in just 3.0 innings pitched…Deduno left the game after the third inning with right shoulder soreness…3.0 innings pitched is his shortest start since September 26, 2012 vs. New York-AL…Deduno hit Justin Maxwell in the second inning for his ninth hit batsmen of the season which leads Twins pitchers.
