Two of the three defendants in the murder of 79-year-old Lila Warwick of Willmar have been indicted on First Degree Murder charges.
19-year-old Brok Junkermeier is accused of strangling Warwick to death in her Willmar home July 29th in a robbery plot.Warwick’s grandson, 17-year-old Robert Warwick, is accused of being the mastermind behind the plot.
KWLM reports Junkermeier had been charged with 2 counts of 2nd Degree Murder. On Thursday, a grand jury indictment was announced charging him with 2 counts of 1st Degree Murder and 1 count of 2nd degree murder. His next court appearance will be an omnibus hearing on October 16th.
Warwick had been charged with 2 counts of 2nd Degree Murder as a juvenile, but that has been dismissed, and he has been indicted as an adult on two charges of 1st Degree Murder.Warwick’s court hearing, scheduled for Monday, has been cancelled.
If convicted, Warwick and Junkermeier would face life in prison without parole.
A third suspect, 16-year-old Devon Jenkins, still faces charges in juvenile court of 2nd Degree Murder.
