Loose Horse Causes Eden Valley Crash 21 Sep 13

A horse was killed and a woman injured in an early Friday morning motor vehicle crash southeast of EdenValley.

According to the Meeker County Sheriff’s Office, 51-year-old James Doll of rural Watkins was driving a minivan north on County Road 34 just before 5:30am when the vehicle struck a horse that had run into the roadway. The horse was thrown into the front end of a parked vehicle occupied by 54-year-old Sonja Harms of Litchfield.

A passenger in the Doll vehicle, 54-year-old Linda Doll, was taken to Meeker Memorial Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The horse was killed in the incident.

That animal and other horses that were loose in the area are owned by Robert Kelly of rural Watkins. He removed the dead horse and rounded up the other horses.
