The Veterans Health Administration provides free flu shots and pertussis (whopping cough) inoculations to all enrolled veterans. This year, they are bringing the shots to local veterans to save them from having to drive to the nearest VA Medical Center, which can often be over an hour away.
In the Hutchinson area, the free shots will be available at the Hutchinson National Guard Armory at 1200 Adams Street SE on Tuesday, October 8th from 2:00 pm to 7:00 p.m.
Additionally, VA staff and McLeod County Veteran Services employees will be available to answer questions concerning VA Health Care eligibility, billing and other special services including the newly established Home Based Primary Care program where VA medical staff can visit homebound veterans in their homes to provide services previously only available at the Medical Centers.
Questions should be directed to McLeod County Veteran Services at (320) 864-1268.
