KWLM is reporting that a Dassel teen, injured in a high school football game, is back in the hospital.
16-year-old Luke Nelson plays for the Dassel-Cokato Chargers and was injured in a game September 6th.
He suffered a life-threatening brain injury and was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center for surgery which involved removing part of his skull to alleviate pressure caused by swelling. He returned home September 22nd to continue his recovery, but according to his Caringbridge.com site, he developed a blood clot in a vein in his neck and was brought back to HCMC.
He was briefly in the ICU but has been moved out and the swelling in his neck has gone down.
His family hopes to bring him back home again soon.
