The omnibus hearing for 19-year-old Brok Nathaniel Junkermeier of Willmar, one of the three young men charged with the July 29th strangulation and stabbing death of Lila Warwick, has been canceled at the request of his defense attorney.
The West Central Tribune reports the hearing, scheduled for 9 a.m. Wednesday before District Judge Donald Spilseth, was taken off the Kandiyohi County District Court calendar Monday at the request of Kent Marshall, Junkermeier’s public defense attorney.
Marshall’s letter to the court asked that the case be reset because of a scheduling conflict and because of the first-degree indictment against his client. Spilseth also ordered that a scheduling hearing be set with his law clerk and the attorneys in the case.
Junkermeier and 17-year-old Robert Innocencio Warwick of Willmar, were indicted by a grand jury September 19th on first-degree murder charges in the case.
The third teen charged in the case, 16-year-old Devon James Jenkins, faces two second-degree murder charges as a juvenile.
