The completion date for the Highway 5 project from Arlington to Green Isle has been pushed back again.
The original completion date was supposed to be Monday, but has now been pushed back to next Monday.
The paving should be finished, touch up on the aggregate shoulders was expected to continue Tuesday and the construction crew was expected to grind in the rumble strips Tuesday and today (Wednesday) with striping expected for today (Wednesday) and Thursday.
Officials say there is a chance the highway could be open by Friday, but the target date is Monday, weather permitting.
Current detours will remain in effect. There is now a shorter detour north of Arlington to Green Isle.
