BCA Continues Investigation of Officer Involved Shooting 28 Oct 13

The Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is continuing its investigation of a shooting involving a Hutchinson Police officer last Friday morning (10/25/13).

Hutchinson Police Chief Dan Hatten says the BCA is currently conducting interviews of those involved.

No new information has been released since the incident occurred last week.

At 8:10 Friday morning, Hutchinson Police Services responded to the Fairlane Apartments at 455 High Street Northeast for a report of a suspicious male sleeping in the entryway of the apartment complex.

Upon the officer’s arrival, there was a brief confrontation and shots were fired.

Authorities say the suspect, an adult male, was taken to Hutchinson Health for treatment.  The suspect was later taken to HCMC in Minneapolis for treatment.

Chief Hatten says the officer was not injured and is on paid administrative leave.
