SAINT PAUL, Minn. – Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has reassigned forward Stephane Veilleux to the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League (AHL).
Veilleux, 31 (11/16/81), was recalled on Oct. 9 and recorded 11 hits and six penalty minutes (PIM) in 10 games with Minnesota. The 6-foot-1, 200-pound native of St. Georges de Beauce, Que., has compiled 101 points (46-55=101) and 317 PIM in 460 NHL games with Minnesota, Tampa Bay and New Jersey. Veilleux ranks fifth in Wild history in hits (407), eighth in games played (392), ninth in PIM (269) and 11th in shots (558). He was originally selected by Minnesota in the third-round (93rd overall) of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft and wears No. 19 for the Wild.
