The BCA continues to investigate an officer involved shooting which took place on October 25th in Hutchinson.
The shooting took place at 8:30 a.m. when an officer with Hutchinson Police Services responded to 455 High Street North East in Hutchinson following a 9-1-1 call of a suspicious person inside the multi-unit residence.
The individual was taken by Allina Health ambulance to Hutchinson Health and then transported to Hennepin County Medical Center where he continues to receive treatment for a single gunshot wound to the abdomen. BCA agents have been working with this individual in an effort to obtain a statement about the incident.
The officer, Sergeant Eric Kilian, was uninjured. Sgt. Kilian has been with Hutchinson Police Services for 15 years. He returned to work yesterday following a standard administrative leave.
BCA agents are conducting this ongoing and active investigation with assistance from the McLeod County Sheriff’s Office and at the request of Hutchinson Police Services. When complete, the BCA will present its findings to the McLeod County Attorney’s Office for review.
