Funding for the proposed Hutchinson Law Enforcement Park has been raised, faster than expected.
Police Chief Dan Hatten told the city council Tuesday night that the $90,000 needed to construct the park along the Crow River has been met, and exceeded, in pledges and cash donations. Hatten says $92,000 has been raised.
The city council then approved dedicating the land for the park, authorization to move ahead with the project, and more or less act at the fiscal agent for the project.
Construction is expected to begin in the spring.
