A Henderson man was killed in a logging accident Friday afternoon.
The Sibley County Sheriff’s Office says 53-year-old David Bach was pronounced dead at the scene after a branch hit him on the head.
Authorities say Bach’s son, 22-year-old Christopher Bach, was operating a Bobcat with a grappler attachment. Christopher said there was a tree in the grappler while David was cutting branches off of it with a chainsaw. As David cut one of the branches off the tree, the tree slipped from the grappler, swung around, and hit David in the head.
The incident happened at about 12:30 Friday afternoon about one mile west of 26338 251st Avenue, Henderson.
Bach’s body was taken to the Anoka County Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.
