United Way of McLeod County Board President Dave Schwedler has announced that the organization delivered nearly $77,000 in checks during November, to 35 partnering agency programs. Those checks represent the second half community investment grants for2013 United Wayfunding.
Schwedler says because of the donors, the United Way has been able to distribute over $153,000 in community investment grants this year.
Schwedler says those dollars, in addition to another $12,000 in direct designations derived from fundraising efforts, are being used to support worthy programs that are making a difference in so many lives in this area at this time.
The UWMC is currently in the midst of its 2013-14 campaign. UWMC supports programs in the areas of: emergency and basic needs, health and human services, child development and community development. In 2013 the UWMC is funding 35 agencies/programs that support the organization’s mission of impacting the needs of McLeod County by building stronger, healthier communities.
