A Shakopee man was killed after losing control and plunging off the Bloomington Ferry Bridge Friday morning.
According to the State Patrol, 48-year-old Steven Whiting lost control of his car on an icy patch of road while traveling southbound on Highway 169.
The car went over the guardrail, and dropped from 40 to 50 feet.
Whiting died at the scene.
The State Patrol believes the crash happened during early morning hours, but was not reported until about 8:30 a.m.
