The Hutchinson School District held their “Truth in Taxation” public hearing last night (Tuesday) and then approved their final levy.
The total levy is just over $4.6-million.
Director of Business and Finance Donna Luhring says that’s just over 3 percent less than last year.
Because two referendum questions were voted on and passed in November, McLeod County taxpayers did not see that information on their property tax statements, because calculations could not be made that early. Still, Luhring says on average, the school’s portion of property taxes will go down, just not as much as may have shown on the property tax statements.
