Multiple charges have been filed against a Hector man in connection with a recent utility vehicle accident in Le Sueur County.
36-year-old Blair Jacob Raitz was driving the vehicle in Le Sueur County’s Lexington Township on September 1st when the vehicle veered into a ditch and rolled.
33-year-old Daniel Scott Berg, who was a passenger, was pinned underneath the vehicle. Raitz called 911, but he was gone when emergency personnel arrived. He told authorities that he had flagged down another driver to stay with Berg until help arrived, while he returned to a local campground. At the campground Raitz apparently fell asleep for several hours before driving himself to a hospital in Burnsville. Berg was airlifted to Regions Hospital in St. Paul, where doctors amputated part of his leg.
Raitz has been charged with criminal vehicular operation, leaving the scene of an accident, reckless driving and violation of driving restrictions. He’s due in Le Sueur County Court on February 4th.
