SAINT PAUL, Minn. – The National Hockey League’s (NHL) Minnesota Wild announced tonight that the 10 millionth fan is expected to attend the team’s next home game on Sunday, Dec. 29 against the New York Islanders at Xcel Energy Center.
The lucky 10 millionth fan on Dec. 29 will receive a prize package including a custom Wild 10 Millionth Fan jersey, a team-signed hockey stick, four tickets to the Minnesota Wild game against the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday, March 22 at 1 p.m. at Xcel Energy Center and four tickets to the Big Ten Championship Game on March 22 at 7 p.m. at Xcel Energy Center.
With tonight’s crowd of 18,531, a total of 9,986,408 patrons have attended Wild games at Xcel Energy Center in team history. Minnesota played its first game at Xcel Energy Center on Sept. 29, 2000, a preseason match against the Anaheim Ducks, and has played 493 regular season games, 36 preseason games and 15 playoff matches at Xcel Energy Center.
The team has sold out 486 games played at Xcel Energy Center in franchise history. The capacity for hockey games at Xcel Energy Center is 17,954.
