Renville County Prisoner Faces New Charges 31 Dec 13

A Renville County Jail prisoner is facing charges of Conspiracy to Commit First Degree Premeditated Murder, Conspiracy to Commit First Degree Witness Tampering and Conspiracy to Commit 1st Degree Assault with Great Bodily Harm.

Reports say 47-year-old Ronald James Andersen is currently in the Renville County Jail in Olivia for a 3rd Degree Burglary Charge in Redwood County. Prosecutors believe he tried to hire a man to threaten and/or kill two witnesses against him in the burglary case.

Court records say on December 23rd Andersen met with a man at the Renville County Jail and promised to pay him $5000 to injure a Marshall woman and threaten her daughter not to testify against him.

The man told an investigator about Andersen’s offer.

The next day, wearing a recording device, the man again met with Andersen in his jail cell, and Andersen reportedly offered him $10,000 to kill the mother to intimidate the daughter not to testify in the burglary case. Andersen reportedly gave the man a map where to find the victims and described their residence. He promised to pay the man with jewelry and provide him with a fake alibi.

The new charges were filed against Andersen Monday.
