SAINT PAUL, Minn. – Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled forward Jason Zucker (pronounced ZOOK-ER) from the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League (AHL) and reassigned defensemen Jonathon Blum to Iowa.
Zucker, 21 (1/16/92), has tallied 13 points (8-5=13) and 55 penalty minutes (PIM) in 22 games with Iowa this season. He ranks first on the team in shots (80), tied for first with four power-play goals and tied for second in goals. Zucker has registered 18 shots in seven games with Minnesota this season and owns seven points (4-3=7) in 33 career NHL games with the Wild. The 5-foot-11, 186-pound forward was born in Newport Beach, Calif., and raised in Las Vegas, Nev. He was selected by Minnesota in the second-round (No. 59) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft and wears sweater No. 16 with the Wild.
Blum, 24 (1/30/89), was recalled by Minnesota on Monday and did not appear in last night’s game against St. Louis. He has tallied 16 points (3-13=16) in 29 games this season with Iowa.
