Wild lose Konopka to Buffalo 03 Jan 14
SAINT PAUL, Minn. – Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher today announced that forward Zenon Konopka(pronounced ZEH-nohn kuh-NOHP-kah) was claimed off waivers by the Buffalo Sabres.
    Konopka, 33 (1/2/81), recorded two points (1-1=2) in 36 games with Minnesota this season and led the team with 55 penalty minutes (PIM). He has collected 29 points (12-17=29) and 1,049 PIM in 323 career NHL games with Anaheim, Columbus, Tampa Bay, New York Islanders, Ottawa and Minnesota. The 6-foot, 213-pound native of Niagara on the Lake, Ont., was signed by the Wild as a free agent on July 1, 2012 and notched two points and 172 PIM in 73 games with Minnesota.
