An adult male was found dead near Stewart this morning after being reported missing.
His name hasn’t been released.
At just before 8:30 this morning (Monday), the McLeod County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a missing adult male who had gotten stuck in a vehicle near the intersection of McLeod County Road 7 and 70th Street, south of Stewart.
In a news release, Chief Deputy Tim Langenfeld says the man had not been heard from since about 11pm Sunday.
Personnel from the McLeod County Sheriff’s office and Stewart Fire Department began searching for the missing man and just before 11 this morning, an adult man was found dead about 2 ¼ miles away from where the vehicle was located.
The Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office was notified and is assisting in the investigation.
Authorities say additional details will be released after the victim’s relatives have been notified.
