Three hog barns near Lafayette were destroyed in a fire early Friday morning, and nearly a thousand hogs were killed.
Fire crews were called out to the Steve and Mary Langhorst farm southeast of Lafayette at around 5:30am after flickering lights were reported coming from one of the barns.
The barns were fully engulfed when fire crews arrived.
