The cleanup continues at Sibley East High School in Arlington after a fire broke out in the school’s Industrial Arts area on February 25th.
Students were evacuated to a church across the street after materials in the Metals Shop ignited. No students were hurt, but Classroom Instructor Jeff Eppen did suffer smoke inhalation while using a fire extinguisher to limit the fire and was treated at theSibleyMedicalCenter.
Service Master Recovery Management has reportedly been working on the cleanup 7 days a week, and the work is expected to take about 3 weeks to complete.
Local contractors have also been completing electrical and ventilation work, as well as roof inspections.
Officials say Sibley East’s insurance will cover the cleanup and replacement costs.
