Willingham to DL, Twins get win 12 Apr 14

The Minnesota Twins expect to put left fielder Josh Willingham on the 15-day disabled list Saturday. Willingham has been out since he was hit in the left wrist by a pitch Sunday in Cleveland. The move would be retroactive to Monday, and the Twins plan to fill his roster spot with right-hander Michael Tonkin.

Chris Colabello drove in three runs and Kyle Gibson pitched into the seventh inning of Minnesota’s 10-1 laugher over Kansas City. Josmil Pinto (johs-MEEL’ PEEN’-toh) homered in the Twins’ first home win over the Royals in 10 tries dating to last season.
