MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The football coach fired from Minnesota State, Mankato who was cleared of child pornography charges returns to his old job.
Todd Hoffner will leave his new job at Minot State in North Dakota behind Wednesday when he returns to his duties at Mankato.
Hoffner says the last two years have been a nightmare, but that he always wanted to coach at Mankato, where he has roots and has helped grow the football program.
The coach was arrested in August of 2012 after university staff found images of his naked children on his work cellphone. But a judge later dismissed the charges, saying the videos depicted only innocent images of his children acting playfully after a bath.
The university issued a statement apologizing to Hoffner and expressed regret for the difficulties he and his family have experienced.
