McLeod County Auditor-Treasurer, Cindy Schultz, would like to remind taxpayers that the first half of their property tax is due on or before Thursday, May 15, 2014.
Payments are accepted by mail, in person at the McLeod County North Complex building 2391 Hennepin Ave. N. from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., or there is a convenient payment drop box located just outside of the building.
If you are interested in paying by credit card or e-check, visit the County website: www.co.mcleod.mn.us. There is a fee involved for paying your property tax by this method.
If mailing, please return your statement stub with your payment to insure proper credit.
Postmarks are due on or before the 15th of May. Postmarks after the 15th will be assessed Penalty. Minnesota Statutes directs that we must go by the postmark for penalty.
Note: most Post Offices now use a servicing center. Mail can be postmarked two or three days after pick up, please plan accordingly.
