Authorities continue to investigate the drowning of a 16-year-old Norwood Young America boy whose body was pulled from Eagle Lake late Friday night.
Carver County Sheriff’s Deputies received a call at around 7:30pm about Davis Paul Colley being in the lake in Baylor Regional Park just north of Norwood Young America.
His body was recovered at around 11pm. Investigators say that it’s not clear why the boy was in the water, but his friends reportedly say that Colley may have been attempting a “Cold Water Challenge.” That’s where teens videotape themselves jumping into icy lakes in the name of charity. Deputies would only say that preliminary information suggests Colley was not engaged in recreational swimming. Anyone with information on Colley’s activities prior to the drowning is being urged to contact the Carver County Sheriff’s Office.
