Ridgewater Commencement 15 May 14

WILLMAR — Nearly 1,150 students will graduate from Ridgewater College this week.

Commencement for the Willmar campus will be at 7 p.m. Friday at the Willmar Civic Center.

The Hutchinson commencement will be at 7 p.m. today (Thursday)  in the commercial building on the McLeod County Fairgrounds.

The college’s graduates range in age from 16 to 76, and they come from more than 19 different states, according to a release from the college.

Graduates will receive diplomas, certificates and degrees from 65 different programs.

The Ridgewater Concert Choir will sing at the Willmar commencement. Student speaker will be 2014 graduate Stephanie Blood. Commencement speaker will be Julie Buntjer, Ridgewater College nursing instructor.

Honor students with a 4.0 GPA will wear a medallion and a gold cord on their gowns. Students with GPAs from 3.75 to 3.99 will wear gold cords.
