The City of Hutchinson is moving forward with plans to draft and ultimately adopt an ordinance to allow and regulate brewers in the city.
At last night’s city council meeting, additions were tacked onto a sample ordinance that had been presented previously to the council.
The tweaking included adding definitions and regulations for Brew Pubs, Tap Rooms, “on-premises stores,” and the sale of “Growlers,” which are 64 ounce jugs of beers produced by craft breweries.
Additions also included exempting craft breweries from state restaurant regulations.
The council approved setting the first reading for their next council meeting and the second reading, along with a public hearing, for the following meeting on August 12th.
