Remains found near Hutchinson – UPDATE 17 Jul 14

The McLeod County Sheriff’s Office says that the investigation of the partially decomposed remains of a human or animal found northeast of Hutchinson on Wednesday is complete. A hunting dog being trained at Gopher Campfire seven miles northeast of Hutchinson had picked up what appeared to be a human hand inside a glove at shortly after Noon Wednesday, and the dog’s owner contacted the authorities. Tests were conducted by the Anoka County Medical Examiner’s Office to determine if the remains were human or not, and late Thursday authorities announced that it was actually a bear paw inside the glove. McLeod County Sheriff Scott Rehmann says that it’s hard to know if it was a hoax or not, and that–Quote–“It’s just weird that it was a paw and it was inside a glove.”
