Tiger Rewind – State Quarterfinals

Hutchinson 49 Holy Angels 14

Hutchinson was held scoreless in the first quarter for the first time all season, but the Tigers had a big 2nd quarter to pull away from #2 Holy Angels and get a 49-14 win in the State Class 4A Quarterfinals.  The #1 ranked Tigers scored on their first possession of the second quarter witha  14 yard run from Robbie Grimsley.  Grimsley would add a 58 yard Touchdown run in the 3rd quarter.  QB Marcus Hahn had two 2nd quarter TD passes, one to Grant Baumetz and the other to Keegan Macemon on a key 4th down play.  Hutchinson’s starting defense allowed just their second Touchdown of the season in the 2nd quarter, but that would be all the Stars would get until the last drive of the game.  Adam Elliot and Robbie Grimsley had interceptions for the defense, while Grant Baumetz and Mason Kucera would record sacks.  Hutchinson is 11-0, and will meet #7 De La Salle in the State Semi Finals next week.
