MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Kyle Gibson pitched eight strong innings and the Minnesota Twins scored on a wild pitch to beat the Chicago White Sox 1-0 Friday night. Torii Hunter and Kennys Vargas each had two hits for Minnesota, which has won five of its last seven. Glen Perkins pitched a tense ninth inning for his seventh save.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Minnesota Twins have put righthander Tim Stauffer on the disabled list with a strained chest muscle and called up righthander Ryan Pressly to replace him. Stauffer was 1-0 with an 8.38 ERA in eight games. Pressly was 0-2 with a 4.50 ERA in seven relief appearances at Rochester. Stauffer is the second Twins reliever in recent days to go on the disabled list, joining righthander Casey Fien, who has a strained shoulder.
