McLeod Co Sheriff Warns of Scam 15 Jan 16

The McLeod County Sheriff’s Office warns there is a new scam making the rounds.

The scam begins with a text message from 800-819-9021 which reads MidCountry Bank has detected an issue on your account. Your account has been locked. Dial 1-224-512-7014 and confirm personal details to activate it.

A representative at MidCountry Bank said the bank would call if there was an issue with an account. A fraud monitoring service handles issues with debit cards.
