Three Seriously Injured in Crash West of Atwater 08 Jun 16

A rear-end crash seriously injured three people just west of Atwater Tuesday afternoon.

The State Patrol says 20-year-old Gerald Walther of Grove City, 19-year-old Jose Sauceda of Atwater, and 18-year-old Faith Palmer of Grove City were taken to hospitals for treatment.

The crash happened just befor 5pm on Highway 12 at the entrance of Bushmills Ethanol Plant.

The State Patrol says a semi was stopped on highway 12 waiting to make a left turn into the Bushmills Ethanol Plant when a car driven by Walther rear ended the semi. The car caught on fire after the impact but the semi -driver was able to put out the fire with his extinguisher.

The three victims had to be extricated from the car.

The semi driver was not injured.
