Busy night in the cities 01 Sep 16

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Minnesota sports fans have a smorgasbord of options to start the last weekend of summer.

All on Thursday night, the Twins play at Target Field, the Vikings wrap up the preseason at U.S. Bank Stadium, the Gophers football team opens at TCF Bank Stadium, and the minor-league Saints have a game at CHS Field.

The Twins, Vikings and Saints start around 7 p.m. The Gophers kick off at 8 p.m. Throw in the Minnesota State Fair and a slate of high-school football games, and there won’t be many folks at home.

With the Twins, Vikings, Gophers and Saints all located along the Green Line, light rail will be a popular transportation mode. Metro Transit spokesman Howie Padilla says all trains will be in service, with up to 81 cars available.
