County Taxes Due 11 Oct 16

McLeod County Auditor-Treasurer, Cindy Schultz Ford, is reminding taxpayers that the second half of their property tax is due on October 15, 2016 for non-agricultural properties.

However, with October 15th falling on a Saturday, tax payments will be accepted through Monday, October 17th, without penalty.

Payments are accepted by mail, in person at the McLeod County North Complex building 2391 Hennepin Ave. N. from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., or there is a convenient payment drop box located just outside of the building.

If you are interested in paying by credit card or e-check, visit the County website: www.co.mcleod.mn.us. There is a fee involved for paying your property tax by this method.

If mailing, return your statement stub with your payment to insure proper credit to your property tax record(s).

Postmarks are due on or before the 17th of October. Postmarks after the 17th will be assessed penalty. Minnesota Statutes directs that we must go by the postmark for penalty.

Note: most Post Offices now use a servicing center. Mail can be postmarked two or three days after drop off, please plan accordingly.
