Public Hearing Set on HPD Body-cams 12 Jan 17

The Hutchinson Police Department will begin training on their new body-cams in about a month-and-a-half, but before that, a public hearing will be held to get input and questions from residents.

Hutchinson Police Chief Dan Hatten says staff training is set to start in the beginning of March.

Hatten says the request was made for the public hearing in case there is significant input or concerns that may cause changes to what the department policy would ultimately be, and would allow any suggestions to be taken into consideration before the training begins.

The City Council this week approved setting the public hearing for 7pm on January 24th at the City Center in the council chambers.
