Meeker County Patrol Sgt. Charged with Stalking 03 Feb 17

A Meeker County Patrol Sergeant has been charged with stalking.

The Meeker County Sheriff’s Office says Patrol Sergeant Joel Engler has been charged with 2 counts of gross misdemeanor-level stalking.

Authorities say on September 13, 2016, the Sheriff’s Office received a stalking and harassment complaint against Engler. Based on the allegations, Sergeant Engler was placed on paid leave and a criminal investigation was initiated. The Willmar Police Department conducted the investigation and upon completion, the Meeker County Attorney’s Office referred the case to the McLeod County Attorney’s Office for their review and consideration of charges. 

Sergeant Engler was charged yesterday (Thursday) in Meeker County District Court.
